Our top 5 items for nomadic baby care
Waterdrop Under Sink Filtration System - our water sources change constantly and having become fed up with refill stations outside grocery stores (in different states of grime and disrepair) this system lets us top off our drinking jugs while at an RV park. As we don’t drink from our primary onboard tank this is our water filter for all cooking, drinking and Koa sippy cups.
Hatch Baby Sound Machine - perhaps there is no more important item onboard than the “nap protector.”
Instant Pot 6 Quart - there is no harder working machine onboard apart from our diesel engine. This pressure cooker prepares most of Koa’s staples from oatmeal, potatoes, chicken and veggies, all while sipping power off our batteries. It is truly our boondocking kitchen miracle and we would never leave port without it. Bonus — you can sanitize your bottles in this easily!
Pyrex Glass Food Storage - our food shopping is highly location dependent, we can be a whole state away from a Costco so stocking up, and prepping ahead means we need safe neutral food storage options. We prep and freeze most of Koa’s weekly proteins (fresh out of the Instant Pot) in one of these glass Pyrex bowls
Melissa and Doug Wooden Toys - we’re always conscious of what Koa is playing with and its safety. We prefer to have wooden toys, especially when it all ends up in his mouth. Melissa and Doug make fantastic puzzles, child’s tools and Koa’s favorite broom set.
